1. Our e-invoicing obligations
Mazad Motor is registered for VAT in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and issues electronic invoices in line with the e-invoicing regulations of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA). Every sale completed on the platform automatically generates a compliant e-invoice.
2. Simplified tax invoices
Sales to individuals are documented with a simplified tax invoice issued the moment your payment is collected. The invoice is available to download from Payments & Invoices and is sent to the email address registered on your account.
3. What appears on your invoice
Every invoice carries our name, address, and VAT registration number; the invoice number and time of issue; a description of the vehicle including its VIN; the taxable amount; the VAT rate and amount; the total due; and the cryptographic stamp and QR code required by ZATCA.
4. VAT treatment of auction sales
VAT is charged at the prevailing standard rate on the hammer price and on all fees, unless a vehicle is explicitly marked as exempt or zero-rated. The rate applied is the one in force on the date the sale is concluded.
5. Buyer's premium and fees
The buyer's premium, documentation fees, and any yard or storage fees are taxable supplies in their own right. They appear as separate line items on your invoice, each showing the VAT applied.
6. Invoices for business buyers
If you bid through a verified business account, we issue a standard tax invoice showing your commercial registration and VAT number, so you can reclaim input VAT where you are entitled to. Make sure these details are up to date in Profile & Documents before you bid.
7. Credit notes and refunds
When a sale is cancelled or an amount is refunded, we issue an electronic credit note referencing the original invoice. The credit note is reported to ZATCA in the same way as invoices and appears next to the invoice in your account.
8. Corrections
Invoices cannot be edited once issued and reported; errors are corrected by issuing a credit note and a replacement invoice. Contact support within thirty days if any detail on your invoice is incorrect.
9. Retention and retrieval
Invoices and credit notes are retained for ten years and remain available to download from your account during that period. If your account is closed, you can request copies by contacting our finance team.
10. Reporting and audit
Invoice data is submitted to ZATCA as the regulations require. We may be asked to provide supporting documents during an audit, and we will do so without disclosing your personal data beyond what ZATCA requires.
